This is the optimal time to buy if you’re in the market for a newer laptop. Your most likely to find prices for newer models at the same price point as older laptops. But prices for older models may not be any cheaper than you found them in April.

A drop-in laptop prices happens every April like clock-work. Stores rush to clear out old inventory to make way for new models. Expect some deep-discounts from major vendors in this season.
The phrase-New Year, New Me-also applies to laptops as this is when you’re sure to find new models on the shelves. And since these are new models, you’ll want to consider warranties to protect your investment.

Monday’s are the best days of the week to shop for a laptop. This is the day when laptop manufacturers announce rebates, which can give you money back on your purchase.

When Do New Models Arrive?
Major manufacturers release new models throughout the year; particularly in early spring (February to April), midsummer (June to August), and fall (September to December).
Again, before these new models arrive. Merchandisers will reduce the prices of the older models to make room. You’ll want to time your purchase right before these new laptops arrive to take advantage of the sales.
But don’t be surprised if some models are either at the same price as the new ones. Or even slightly more expensive.

The reason why laptop vendors release new models to the market is so that they can offer something new to the user. Even though new models are released seasonally. Each model isn’t released more than once a year.
Furthermore, most updates are timed closely with Intel’s CPU launch schedule so that the laptop is refreshed with the latest generation processor as soon as it becomes available.
According to tests performed by laptopmag.com. Laptops with newer chips performed as much as 92% faster than laptops with CPUs from the outgoing generation, on certain tasks.
AMD released its own line of mobile low-performance chips to re-align itself as a true contender to Intel in 2017. The Ryzen Mobile APUs introduce a 52% boost for the entry level processors. You can find this new APU in the Acer Swift 3, HP Envy x360, and Lenovo IdeaPad 720s.

For gamers, there’s nothing as important as the release of new graphics chips. In August of 2016, NVIDIA unveiled its 10th gen Graphics Processing Units which boast the “Pascal” architecture.
